Pigmentations and Fine Wrinkles

Pigmentations on the body are usually caused by excessive melanin. Laser provides an excellent way to treat some of the common pigmentations of the face. Prior to treating it is very important to rule out malignant melanoma.Melasma (also known as "Chloasma faciei" or the mask of pregnancy when present in pregnant women) is a tan or dark skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral or patch contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medications. It is also prevalent in men and women of Native American descent (on the forearms) and in men and women of German/Russian and Jewish descent (on the face). The symptoms of melasma are dark, irregular patches commonly found on the upper cheek, nose, lips, upper lip, and forehead. These patches often develop gradually over time. Melasma does not cause any other symptoms beyond the cosmetic discoloration. The discoloration usually disappears spontaneously over a period of several months after giving birth or stopping the oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy. Treatments to hasten the fading of the discolored patches include medical treatment and laser treatment.

The treatment of melasma had been difficult until the invention of fractionated carbondioxide laser machine for fractional resurfacing of the skin. By combining this with other forms of medical treatments optimum results can be obtained.fractionated carbondioxide laser is also used for treatment of senile spots and fine lines. It has been very useful in the treatment of acne scars. Acne scars require the treatment to be repeated many times until the satisfactory results are obtained. Our treatment of pigmented patches combine the IPL ( Intense Pulse Light) and RF (Radio Frequency) which is combined with fractionated carbondioxide laser (erbium) laser to resurface areas with very dark pigmentation. The IPL with RF takes out the pigmentation from the superficial and middle parts of the skin. The fractionated carbon dioxide laser resurfacing is the best way to remove deep pigmentation in asian skin.

Above shows remarkable improvement with combination of fractionated carbondioxide laser and ELOS technique combined with the unique Lightening skin cream which is only sold in our clinic. Only two treatments were given at the time of the second picture taken without any makeup. Patient is already very happy with the results and will continue to receive further treatments for removing the remaining pigmentation.

Here fractionated carbon dioxide resurfacing together with IPL and RF had been used to improve age spots of the hand which occurs commonly with the sun damage and the aging.

Below is a very remarkable improvement obtained for antiaging and pigmentation with three laser treatments and three months of day cream and night cream use.

The patient got rid of most of her skin pigmentation and got a remarkable lift of her face. She also got tightening of her skin in the neck and chin with more definition of her jaw lines. Lift is most noticeable at the corner of her mouth.

Here are the pictures of the same patient from the front.

Above is a patient who became fairer and got rid of most of her pigmented patches of the face with just three treatments with IPL RF and fractionated carbondioxide laser. She also used our specially formulated day cream and the night cream to achieve the above result.

Above is a very happy Sri Lankan patient who got rid of most of her skin pigmentations after three treatments of IPL and RF with CO2 resurfacing and three months of day cream and night cream use. She also got very fare with the treatments.

Above patient had acne laser treatments with blue light therapy and diet treatment.

Since you have obtained a good result it is very important to maintain that result with the same treatment once in four or six months. Otherwise the skin tends to revert back to where it was gradually.

In addition to taking out pigmentation from the skin fractionated carbondioxide laser resurfacing can be used to treat acne scars. The above results took six fractionated carbondioxide laser treatments done once a month. The depth of the fractionated carbondioxide laser laser is usually increased gradually.

Here the acne scars have improved and the patient also got a lighter skin and facial skin tightness following her laser treatments.

When scars are severe and patient shows signs of ageing due to acne damage it is best to perform a fat graft to fill the acne scars from below. Fat grafting provides much needed stem cells from body areas such as abdomen, back, under arm or thighs to be layered in the facial skin. Above patient had severe acne scars and has completely reversed aging and looks much younger following three fat grafts. Her skin color improvement is due to laser creams and glutathione injections.
